The Shady Oak stands majestically in the center of the downtown business district in historic Micanopy, Florida. A marvelous canopy of ancient live oaks, 19th century storefronts and quiet shaded streets provide sidewalks for pleasant evening walks.

Designed and built by Frank James in the style of a 19th century “old Florida” mansion. The Shady Oak is now a private residence featuring four beautiful rooms and suites.

A large panoramic porch offers comfortable outdoor relaxation, includes a bed/swing hammock, barbecue grill, paddle fans, and pool table for your enjoyment.

There are many shops and three cafes in town. For those of you with a sweet tooth, there is even an Ice cream Parlor and Café downstairs.
